Our Core Behaviors.
So you know what to expect when you engage with our team.
-
We challenge systems, assumptions, ourselves, and others. We embody continuous improvement and drive the change necessary to redefine the norms of culture to foster more inclusion and belonging through fair and equitable practices. We question both traditions and new ideas, assessing the full weight of the consequences of actions. We acknowledge our unique experience and how it informs our judgements and actions, unlearning what does not serve us and our community. We welcome respectful discord in the pursuit of the learning and growth.
-
We take great care and dedication in our efforts. We fully recognize an answer is not an ending and no concept is complete. Our goal is not perfection, rather a deeper understanding of the purpose and deliberate progress. We research, ask questions, receive feedback, and engage. We are humble and open in the knowledge we obtain, and we seek community and the understandings of others to expand our comprehension. We recognize that knowledge is compounding and that the more we master a topic, the more unknowns we will discover.
-
We innovate through unconstrained thought and conscious action. We are receptive and listen intently on the situations at hand. We openly share our ideas for the benefit of others seeking greater solutions, not in recognition or advancement of ourselves. We acknowledge that the creative state is not an elusive existence, rather an obtainable practice that we must foster through repetition, focus and intentionality.
-
Recognizing humanity, every person at a holistic level, is core to our beliefs and success. We look inward for the compassion and strength to maintain perspective. We continuously seek self-awareness and living in alignment of our values. We recognize that the fractionality of the people we interface with does not reflect them entirely. We respect all people and align our actions accordingly. We honor boundaries and welcome honesty.
-
We do not justify, tolerate, or excuse racism. We prioritize justice, equality, and acknowledgement over the fragility of ourselves and others. We seek to identify and name racism on individual, interpersonal, institutional, and structural levels with the goal of dismantling our own bias and bringing conscious awareness to the issues and systems that oppress individuals and equality for all. We do not believe racism is an inherent piece of any person’s identity, rather a choice that can be learned, unlearned, and changed. We extend the same fierce and unwavering advocacy to all those in minority groups that face discrimination and injustice.
Hello.
My name is Diana Greene and I am the founder of Defyne. I am a culture fanatic. When most people hear the word culture they think of happy hours and ping pong tables. I take a different approach.
Culture is the behaviors, interactions and shared experiences of a group of people. That includes fun, but is rooted in how your team handles communication, conflict, and stress. I have always believed your culture is defined and remembered by how you behave when things are hardest.
My professional experience spans over a decade across many different industries. I gave my first national talk on conflict in 2018 and haven’t stopped speaking up since. In 2021, I received the designation of an Inclusion Institute Certified Diversity Practitioner.
Who am I personally? I am an LGBTQIA+ mother of two biracial children. I am passionate about social justice.
I value authenticity. I am a social connector, driven entrepreneur, passionate broadway fan, and a very mediocre volleyball player. If any of this resonates with you, I welcome you to connect with me. Thank you for being here and joining my journey.
